GUANO GOLD
During the 1850's and 1860's, the country of Peru used slave labor to mine the guano in the caves near the shorelines. Thousands of men died. Now one man is collecting on the debt from the United States.
A professor finds an antique certificate in his deceased wife's dowry chest. When he calls to inquire about the authenticity of the document, he sets off a chain of events starting with the United States Treasury Department tracing back to the old retired, Peruvian politicians.
The document is only one of many bonds, part of a debt the United States has owed to Peru for over a century. Each bond is worth a quarter of a billion dollars payable in gold to the bearer. One man wants them all and will stop at nothing to own them.
The professor's children must stay one step ahead of the killers to solve the mystery of the GUANO GOLD.
